Glossary of terms:

* = lowest rating, ***** = highest rating

Small lakes, flat water, day trips - These designs are primarly for calm sheltered waters.
Coastal, larger lakes, day trips - Similar as above but more open waters, larger bays, etc.
Coastal, large lakes, touring - extended trips on open water, up to a week.
Expedition - Self Supporting, can carry sufficient gear for wilderness adventure, longer trips
Performance - Most efficient & fastest designs for use on calmer waters.
