Our Kayak Kits come complete with everything (and we mean everything) to build yourself a beautiful Cedar Strip Kayak.

Our kits include:

  • KayakCraft or the Strip Built Sea Kayak
  • Full Size set of Building Plans,
  • Full length Bead & Cove Select Western Red Cedar Strips.
  • 2.5 Gallons  EAST System Epoxy with mini pumps. (West System with 207 hardener & MAS Epoxies are available for an additional charge.)
  • 24 yards 6 oz. 38" Fiberglass Cloth (rolled on a tube.)
  • 1 quart of cabosil thickener.
  • Ash Rub Rails (if design requires them.)
  • 2 Mahogany Sheer clamps (if design requires them.)
  • Material for Cockpit coamings (either Okoume Plywood or Cedar Strips.)
  • Pre cut Flush mount hatch supports with closed cell foam tape.
  • Yakima adjustable footpedals.
  • Nimbus design "Creature comfort seat" seat with adjustable backrest.
  • Hatch covering kit - comes with 5 nylon straps, buckles & fasteners.
  • Hold down kit - comes with 12 "eyes", shock cord, fasteners.
  • 3" x 2´ x 2´ minicell foam (closed cell) for 2 bulkheads
  • 3/4" x 2´ x 2´ minicell foam (closed cell) for trimming around the cockpit (protect knee´s, hips, etc.)
  • 1 tube 3M 5200 FastCure sealant (for sealing/bonding bulkheads.)
  • 2 cans Sikkens ClearVarnish U/V
  • 6 pcs each of 80, 120, 180, 240 ALO lubricated sandpaper 9 X 11 sheets.
  • 8 pcs of 1/4" x 48" White Ash to laminate stems (if required.)
  • 1 pound of Dural Plastic Resin glue with syringe to apply glue (for strips.)
  • 6 pairs of latex gloves.
  • 1-7" metal roller tray & handle.
  • 10 epoxy resistent low pile foam rollers.
  • 5 disposable brushes for epoxy.
  • 1 plastic squeeges for applying epoxy.
  • 1 2" Purdy Marine Varnish Brush.
