View Full Version : Kayak designs for big boys
Are there any recommended strip kayak designs out there for people over 200 pounds? I have a slightly higher affinity for gravitational attraction than the limits specified in most designs. With this cougar like frame and gear, I would add maybe 250 pounds to an empty kayak.

The Guillemot Expedition single has a design waterline displacement of 249 lbs. So it should fit if you could either go on a crash diet or leave out a beer. Check this site for kit info.

If you are like me, you will appreciate the Guillemot "L" which is the same as the expedition but with a higher volume hull that is slightly wider and only 18'.
This boat has LOTS of space for both paddler and gear. I would suspect that you could pack enough provisions to last sevral weeks.
