View Full Version : Should I bevel station edges ?

This is kinda hard to explain but I'll try....

My stations are all set up and I'm ready to strip. I put a test strip up to make sure that the curve was fair from end to end...(no gaps between the strip and the stations).
I did notice however, that as I get near the ends, because of the curve, the strip only touches one edge of the station mold. Should the stations molds be beveled to match the curve the strip wants to take ?...I would bevel only the side facing the end of the boat, not to disturb the original outline of the mold.

Optional, most builders bevel the stations so the strips lay flat when stapled, but if you are using staple less construction and are careful about not to dimple the strips you should be able to get away without the extra work.
