Hello all! I have plans for two designs that I am considering building. The first is a 16ft Prospector canoe using 1/4 inch cedar strips and the second is a Selway-Fisher designed Islay Skiff which is a double ended 16ft Gaff rigged sailer. This would require heavier strips, about 3/8 or 9-10mm thick. I have a set of 1/4 inch cove and bead router bits which would be fine for the canoe but I can't for the life of me find the same kind of bits in larger sizes. Does anybody know of a source? Do they even exist. Great forum!

You might want to try Leevaley.com They have a combination bit that has a 3/16 radius. I found this out when I was thinking about using 3/8 thick material as well. The part # is 16J28.52. It lists for about $36.00 Canadian. Hope this helps.
