Gelcote Repairs?

Just curious as to how a smooth, glossy finish can be achieved on repairs to gelcote. I cant seem to figure out this last step...and gelcote people are very tight lipped about any "tricks"!!! Thanks

No trick, just lots of sweat. You need to wetsand with 400 or 600 grit then 1000 or higher. Next step is buffing with course compound, then fine compound and polish.
