i am fiberglassing a boat with polyester resin and i am unsure of how much hardenerto use. any one with any thoughts??

1% to 2% depending on temperature. The hotter it is the less you use.

I was told by the supplier that I purchased my resin and mat from not to adjust my mix. He only informed me that variances in temperature varied my working time i.e.- 70 degrees, 15 minutes working time, 90 degrees, 5 minutes working time. Please set me straight.

You can vary the amount of catalyst in polyester resin to control working time. With Epoxy Resins you should not change the mixing ratio. I think your supplier has confused the resins. Are you sure you have Polyester Resin?
