Adhesive question???????

I've been asked to replace the carpeting on the inside of the sleeping berth of a fiberglass cabin cruise with wood. I'm considering gluing vertical wood strips to the inside of the hull and then screwing "planking" to those. My question is what adhesive should I use to glue the wood strips to the hull so that they won't pull off with the flexing of the hull? Will epoxy work?

Thickened epoxy will work, but a polyurethane such as 3M 5200 or Sikaflex 292 will flex more and will be easier to apply.
