I am getting ready to build my first stripper and and trying to choose between the two designs. My uses will be the usual mixed bag: a 2 week trip someday, floating 2 kids once or twice on flat water, day trips or weekends with the wife and probably 50% or more solo. The waters I'll be on will be lakes and moderate rivers. My last canoe, years ago was a Sawer Summer Song, a 15.5'solo cruising canoe. It was very tender and sliced through the water like a dream, very nice until the waves it was slicing were higher than the bow, then a bit of a problem. I would like to balance that magic feel with the other uses and could use some feedback on these two boats. Thanks.

Sounds like a hard bill to fill, but have a look at John Winters Kipawa, or maybe the Bear Mountain Ranger if you want something a little shorter.
