Keel

I am looking for some input, I have a 12 ft Sylvain canoe made in canada. I would like to know if anybody knows anything about the company. Also I would like to try it out without the keel If I remove it what do I plug the holes with. I would like to be able to put it back on if it turns out to be a bad idea. I live on the Snake and sometimes the keel makes a turn very difficult. I would be thankful for any input.

You can fill with an epoxy putty such as Aquamend then just drill new screw holes if you want to remount the keel.

Thanks for the input, I'm still looking for info on the manufacturer if anybody knows anything please leave a note, I bought it off of craigs list what a deal!!
