    polystyrene foam for boatbuilding?

Does polystryene have sufficient sheer resistance to use as a substrate with epoxy and fiberglass. The bottom line is important, but durability and common sense is even more important. Will it work in a panel?

Polystyrene and polyurethane are not usually recommended for boat building as the poor shear and compression properties will cause delaminating under moderate loads. Cares like Corecell, Divinicell and Klegecell are more expensive for a reason.
