    Question

I have heard, or read, that epoxy does not bond white oak reliably. Any comment or advice will be appreciated.

Epoxy works best on softer more porous woods. Hard oily woods like oak, ash, or teak should not have a smooth surface, and be washed with acetone to get a good bond.
