    okoume plywood properties

Dear Friends, Designing high speed bass boat. Basic design strip planking(cedar) with inner and outer cloth layers as in composite sandwich construction. Builder has asked me to look at use of 0koume plywood as substitute for the cedar. Would appreciate help finding reference material on the physical properties of Okoume plywood, including density, strength in shear, tension and compression and modulus of elasticity (E). Thanks

    Okume Properties

check the gougeon brothers ( west system ) book on boat construction. In the back is a table with properties of different materials.

Okume is often classed as BS 6566 and BS 1066 ( british standard, I may have the numbers wrong ) and these apply to glue used in construction, voids, etc.
