    "Trophy" purchaser

I need help. I'm in the process of buying a Trophy 2052 with a 1.7 Cummins diesel . The package is put together by MerCruiser. It has an Alpha 1 drive. After sea trialing it yesterday, it seemed to be very sluggish. It took a long time to get it up on plane and seemed to be underpowered. Anybody there with this type of package or 4 cylinder gas, would you please give me your comments. Thanks, Snowman

    Trophy 2052 diesel

So, did you buy it? or did you get some more information about it?
I have exactly the same doubt. For me it is even worst because I cannot trial it, since there is no boats like that here.
It is definitely a good ?low fuel cost? solution, mainly for those making many hours of motor (I do 400h/year), but the performances may be feeble?
Another doubt is if, for those who have the boat in the water for the whole year, choosing a stern drive would be a good idea?... I always had out board boats.
Another fuel efficient solution would be the out-board version with the new Honda BF150 hp 4stroke, with the advantage of a more ?active? response, higher max. and cruise speed and cheaper maintenance (than the diesel). I?ve made some research on fuel consumption that I can share if anyone needs it.
    Regards,
    Amberjack
