Repairing a Graphite Impregnated Epoxy Finish

Haven't been on this site since a while, now for a question on behalf of a kayak buddy.

Her kayak was built by someone else and it appears that the wetted surface was coated with graphite impregnated epoxy. Since then, numerous beachings and launches later, the keel section is partially abraded to the wood substructure.

My question is, how well will new epoxy stick to the graphite impregnated finish?

Are there any particular repair techniques she should employ?

Should not be a problem as long as the original surface is well sanded.
