Hello, first post on the board so I hope I can get a few peoples input.
Am looking into building a Solo Cedar Strip canoe and am looking for suggestions on what plans to get and which offer the simplist building for a first timer.
This will be a general canoe used for everything from canoeing small lakes and rivers to some medium sized rivers (Upper St. Croix in Minnesota). Will also do some fishing out of it as well. Looking form something stable, fairly easy to turn, and tracks relatively well. I weight around 250#'s currently, but am loosing weight over the winter so this must be taken into consideration.
I realize there are tradeoffs on tracking and manueverabilty depending on the canoes design, just want some opinions and suggestions.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
