1st boat - help??

I want to build a small, easy to build, boat, just for my girlfriend and I to row on the farm pond/dam...

I dont have any experience and want to keep the costs as low as pissible...

Any recommendations on what boat?
And can I use external or mahogany ply instead of marine?

Any help will be appreciated

Wooden Boat issue 109 did a nice job of showing you how to build the Ladybug by Harry Bryan. This is a cool little boat, even has a wheel built in so that you can wheelbarrow it around the farm.

Thanks for the links guys it made Public Liability Insurance a lot easier than searching through all the threads until i found the right ones
