wooden rowing boat

I'm dreaming of a wooden rowing boat - with sliding seat rig,
if I can afford it...for exercise and puttering around the
Santa Barbara harbor area - not a racing scull - maybe a
wherry or modified barge! Possible use for inshore fishing, etc.
Any suggestions for such a homebuilt craft ?

A row boat is one of the simplest, most versatile boat types. A small row boat is usually made of wood, with space for not more than 3-4 people, and usually, two oars. Row boats are extensively used in rivers and lakes; their use in open water bodies is limited due to their low seaworthiness.fyneboatkits.co.uk contains some cool boats.
